seen alot of movies. a.i, donnie darko, amelie and vanilla sky comes to mind. all good movies, taking you for a unexpected ride. looking forward to panic room, insomnia (us version) and punchdrunk love.

music is cardinal. i have alway loved bands like sisters of mercy, bauhaus, siouxie and the banshees, the smiths and the cure. and i have always loved a good metal band. like danzig, black sabbath, slayer amongst others.

these days i have grown fond of the "new" goth/metal scene around europe. many of these from norway; tristania, sirenia, sins of thy beloved, the 3rd and the mortal to mention some. lacrimas profundere, my dying bride, anathema and theater of tragedy are other great european bands.

i can think of no american band within this genre, exept one of the giants; type o negative.

many of these bands sound alike. but i would like to pick sirenia, lacrimas profundere and my dying bride as my heartstoppers. go get some of the bands i mentioned. it's worth it.

and please use openag a nice opensource audiogalaxy satellite. it works great. wee.

that's it.

kisses and smooches from the bastard.

i have seen a couple of movies lately. last night i saw "the contender", besides all the patriotic p.c bullshit i thought i was i good movie. gary oldman is outstanding.
i finally got "the godfather" triology on dvd. i have seen all the movies before, and enjoyed them, but now i got to see them "back to back". and i am amazed.
it's a masterpiece no less.

tristania caught my ear the first time i heard them. now i have all their albums. this is great, dark, beautiful and grand music. the band is norwegian. read more about them at tristania.com

"harken my moonchilds cry
yearning for another night
mourning my once beloved
mezmorized and ravendark

my pale enchantress of the night
at last my candle's burning down
the wintermoon is shining bleak
for thee my enchantress"

pale enchantress - tristania

just to mention some other great music i've been listening to lately: amon tobin, my dying bride, the motorhomes, black rebel motorcycle club, the hives and miles davis (thank you my sweet sister).

sometimes you get the chance to see a movie you have been meaning to watch, but never did. my dear sister gave me the special edition of magnolia on dvd for my birthday.

and i must say; what a fantastic movie. this one goes straight into my 10 alltime favourites. this masterpiece is written and directed by paul thomas anderson (boogie nights), and is filled to the rim with brilliant actors, and a story so warm, disturbing, funny and great, it is no less than a streak of genious. if you haven't seen this one, buy it or rent it now. it's for your own good.

i have always thought radiohead was good. i thought kid a was a bit strange and hard to get a grip on, the same goes for amnesiac. i have experienced this before. music that demands some serious listening before it reveales it's true beauty. and i must say kid a and amnesiac is two wonderfull and strong albums.

and soon radiohead is releasing a new record to called 'I might be wrong'. looking forward to that one.

i found a link to a page containing the complete 'ok computer' album by radiohead, this is a 'tribute to radiohead' recording by a string quartet. the recording contains their version of every song on 'ok computer'. site found here.

i downloaded almost the whole new chemical brothers album too. sounds great. the last album by aphex twin is also another really strange and cool album. that richard d. james must be nuts.

so how is life then. thinking alot about my dad these days. he has had two strokes, and is living in a nursing-home 230 kilometers from where i live. so we stay in touch over the phone. looking forward to christmas, then we will spend some time together.

well, keep droping by for the last updates in the life of the bastard. :)
